Well Plots
The magnitude of shale gas potential is directly related to the total organic carbon (TOC) content of the shale and the extent of natural fracturing. GeoKorr has developed a series of programs that can identify fracturing and carbon content in the shales using digital logs (ie. Gamma Ray, density, caliper, SP, resistivity, neutron and density porosity, sonic, density correction and photoelectric effects).
Datasets generated with these programs are used to create individual well plots, which show fracture indices for each available digital log and TOC estimate using a variety of digital log based methods. The following well plot provides an example of the product produced by the proprietary software.
